2016 Science Council hosted by Moorea Coral Reef LTER

The Moorea Coral Reef  and the LTER Network Communications Office (LTER-NCO) look forward to hosting the 2016 LTER Science Council meeting at NCEAS in Santa Barbara, CA. While we can't transport you to the Gump Lab, we're doing our best to turn the meeting location into a tropical paradise.

The topical focus of the Science Council meeting is spatial and temporal distribution of populations selected to represent trophic structure, with breakout discussions on:

  • Global change effects on community composition
  • Effects of invasive species on community and ecosystem function
  • How abiotic conditions affect species interactions
  • Additional topics TBD on site
Wednesday evening will feature a reception, dinner, and fireside chat with NSF program officers in attendance at the historic El Paseo restaurant. Participants will have the chance to sample the wide variety of other restaurants in downtown Santa Barbara for lunches and Thursday dinner.
